Welcome Meeting and Onboarding Week

The master’s welcome and introductory meeting will take place on Friday, April 12th 2024, at 10 a.m. in lecture hall H14 in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and on Zoom.

Here, you will get all the information you need about the structure and organization of your master’s program as well as important dates for your first weeks.

Program of the Master’s Welcome and Introductory Meeting:

10:00 am – noon Welcome, general information about the master study programs, meeting our scientific staff and student body

12:30 pm Time for personal talks with the scientists and students and, of course, for a free lunch (BBQ with meat and veggie options)

Onboarding and Pre-Teaching Week

Your first lecture week starts on Monday, April 15th 2024.

However, work and play starts on the weekend of April 13th and 14th already: You will have the chance to meet members of the students council, who can help you with your timetables and have also planned a variety of leisure time activities for you on the weekend and throughout your first week. The latter, especially, will be a great opportunity to meet your fellow students and make new friends right from the start.

During the onboarding week, you will visit each of our nine institutes, meet the scientists and learn about the respective  research focuses, you will get introductory lectures and an initial lab course. In addition, there will be the preliminary meetings for the core subjects, where you get all the information about the respective courses (mandatory and electives) that you need to take.
